Lichfield Christmas lights switch-on is an annual event attended by over 4000 people every year and takes place in the historic Lichfield market square, in-front of the former home of Dr Johnson.
The market square is actually rectangular and as such the event needs to be heard and seen from the entire market square. To combat this we decided to use our Norton LS2 line-array system in a ground stacked capacity to help achieve the required height for better sound projection. The days events included 2 bands, a 22 piece wind band, cast of the local panto and a school choir. 12" EV monitors were used due to their excellent quality and low feedback.
Our trailer stage was set at a ground clearance of 1m with full height extension of 4m to give the stage a great impression while still only taking up 6m (w) x 4m (d) ground space.
Lighting was essential as the event would continue into the evening when natural light was not present. We overcame this issue by including front positioned white lighting as well as more colourful lighting at the rear of the stage.
